Elaine Aron

Dr. Elaine Aron's book, The Highly Sensitive Person, began public awareness of the HSP trait. Her site is a starting point for anyone interested in this subject and includes a self-test you can use to help you determine if you an HSP. She is a therapist in private practice, a self-described HSP and has written a number of other books about being highly sensitive. 

 

Thomas Eldridge

Counselor, coach and mentor Thomas Eldridge has an informative site that includes directory of personal and professional services by highly sensitive people (Richard is on his list).

 

The Difference Between Having Anxiety and Being an HSP

A mental health oriented site that includes this article that clarifies the difference between the high arousal states due to being highly sensitive and the emotional illness of anxiety.

HSP Internet and Support Groups

 

There are a number of internet discussion and support groups. Yahoo hosts a large number, including geographic specific groups. You can access a list of the Yahoo groups here:  Yahoo HSP Groups

 

One of the largest Yahoo groups is hspbook. This is for anyone who has read or is reading Elaine Aron's book The Highly Sensitive Person.

There are also specialty, or sub-groups. For example, the Yahoo group HSP Survivor is for highly sensitive people who have survived trauma, especially childhood trauma.
