Standing in Time by Kathy Wilson, C.P.C. Copyright ©2006 What did you eat for lunch yesterday? Odds are your eyes moved to the left and up when you thought about this event in your past. The study of NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) shows that when we think about the past we typically place it to our left. We place the future to our right. So, when you think of something that happened in your past, such as what you had to eat for lunch yesterday, you access that part of your brain where your memory is stored. As you visualize the event, your eyes to look up (toward your brain) and to the left (into the past). Recently I had an amazing epiphany regarding how to use this little tidbit of information as a manifesting tool. As I was visualizing my make-believe scale that represents my intended weight loss, I realized that I was positioning my desired weight in the wrong place. Consider this: most of our gauges - the kind that aren't digital - show the smaller number on the left and the larger number on the right. So that's how I was visualizing my weight-loss scale. I was placing the larger number - the weight I want to be in my past - on the right, which is in the position of my future, while the opposite was true of my intended weight. I instantly changed my visual, placing my desired number in front of me (my present time) and the larger number on my left (my past). The result is that I've lost five pounds without even trying. I'm also noticing that, without consciously thinking about it, I'm making better choices about what I eat. My hand seems to move automatically to an apple instead of junk food when I want a snack. I've also found myself motivated to get back into my daily exercise routine and have begun to lift weights again. Imagine how you might use this handy-dandy tool to add power to your visualizing and manifest what you want even faster. Love, ps.
